Title: Fred
Characters/Pairings: George and the Weasley kids
Rating: G
Summary: You’ve had no input into how this is run, none at all except for the fact that you told everyone not to wear black. When your mother asked why, you were going to say that’s how he would have wanted it but then stopped yourself at the absurdity of that statement. He wouldn’t have wanted any of this at all. He would have wanted to be here, with you.
Warnings: Angst!
A/N: Found this randomly on my computer, I'd completely forgotten I'd written it. For one of the Hogsmede competitions on H_E.

Wow, I think I'm glad to have left H_E when I did. I'm not entirely sure what happened, and I think I'm glad I'm still unsure, but I've got enough crap going in IRL to worry about the Hufflepuffs going insane. I'm sorry you all had a bad a time at the meetup and I hope everyone sorts it out sooner or later, and good luck to you all but I think I'm glad I got out now.

Title: All time
Characters/Pairings: James/Lily
Rating: G
Warnings: None really. Death themes, no DH spoilers
A/N:Written for nest_of_spiders. The prompt was Passenger Seat by Death Cab For Cutie, and this just popped into my head. Unashamed fluff :D

I'm starting to get a bit sad to tell the truth. I'll pick it up tomorrow and be like, do I really want to read this?
...Who am I kidding, I'm going to inhale it as quickly as possible. I'm sorta annoyed because I only got up to GoF on my re-read, I'll stay up for a bit now and might read the last couple of chapters of HBP but it's a pity that I didn't manage to do it properly. I'll probably read DH and start from the start again.

Anyways f-list, I know most of you from fandom so this is it! See you on the other side...

Title: The Potter Guide To Anatomy
Rating: G
Pairings: J/L
Disclaimer: If you think I'm JK Rowling you need to get your head checked. I don't own any of these characters!
Summary: Lips - He leans forward slowly into a memory he’ll never forget, and James finally discovers the true meaning of the word magic.
A/N: This is just a set of drabbles, there's no real structure to it. This is my first attempt at unashamed fluff, completely unbeta-ed. It's just a bit of a test run here, if anyone likes it/has any concrit feel free to comment and I might edit and/or post elsewhere accordingly :)

So I finally got the courage to apply for hogwarts_elite. It looks like a lot of fun, and it'd be nice to have somewhere to discuss things fairly seriously. I've honestly been lurking around there for about two years and just never got around to applying. Wish me luck everyone!

So, the first round of ldws has started up, go vote! Siren and I are both in it, this time round, though there's only six people which is no fun. But oh well. Not saying which one's mine, but Rach I bet I can tell which one's yours :p

Using one massive playlist of songs that I like for this, not the whole library. As always, if anyone wants anything go ahead and ask and I'll post it for you unless I bought it on iTunes.

Gacked from just_in_kase

1. Open your library (iTunes, Winamp, Media Player, iPod, etc)
2. Put it on shuffle
3. Press play
4. For every question, type the song that's playing
5. When you go to a new question, press the next button
6. Don't lie and try to pretend you're cool... and a lot of the songs fit with the setting

One really bad soundtrackCollapse )

Gacked from everyone on my f-list at some point in time

Step 1: Get your playlist together, put it on random, and play.
Step 2: Write down the first line from the first 20 songs that play or close to it.
Step 3: Post and let everyone you know guess what song the lines come from.
Step 4: Cross out the songs (or similar) when someone guesses correctly.

LyricsCollapse )

Haha I had to get rid of the spaces in the Panic! song title (in Current Music) because it was too long otherwise :p

So, we have a title. I'm not that excited about what it actually is to tell the truth, it's a bit of a strange one. Though I remember "Half Blood Prince" got a bit of a bashing when it first came out, it'll probably grow on me.
What I'm excited about is that this means things are moving along and that it's now entirely possible that it'll come out next year. And that more news is probably imminent. Does anyone remember how long we had to wait before HBP was announced and when it was released?

OK, as you can probably tell from the subject line I'm horribly bored. So here we go, don't know how many times I've done this now but have fun...

Another meme! Because, well, I'm stalking Kase :D

Instruction: Reply and I'll give you a letter and you have to find five songs that start with that letter and post them to your journal.

T songs! From just_in_kase

1. Twisted Logic - Coldplay
2. Tears in Heaven - Eric Clapton
3. Turn Back Time - Aqua
4. Take a Picture - Filter
5. Talk Show Host - Radiohead

Wow, I haven't heard Tears in Heaven or Turn Back Time in so long. I don't know what made me think of them.

Gacked by aerama

1. Grab the nearest book.
2. Open the book to page 123.
3. Find the fifth sentence.
4. Post the text of the next 3 sentences on your blog along with these instructions.
5. Don’t you dare dig for that "cool" or "intellectual" book in your closet! I know you were thinking about it! Just pick up whatever is closest.
6. Tag three people.

From "Me & Emma", by Elizabeth Flock:

This chain is weighing the top half of my body down, toward my crossed legs, and Emma, even with her being smaller and all, is sitting bolt upright and acting like someone's fastening a diamond crown to her head, like she's proud to be chained up. With me all hunched over like Igor I can smell the bitterness of the number one in my pants. The dirt from the ground is caked on the inside of my jeans and I shiver, even thought it's hot out here in the blazing sun.

...right. This book has been sitting on my computer table for a while because I abandoned it. It's told from an eight-year-old's POV and it's very annoying and rather boring. Or so I thought - turns out the abusive step-father must get more abusive as the story progresses.

And just for fun, I'll tag tattooedsiren, puddleduck3 and its_neems

So, seeing as the massively massive HP rec list being made up is rejecting gen fics, chthonya has made up a gen rec list here. The rules are clearer than they were for the masterlist, so go take a look see if you're interested.

OK, so I just watched Gattaca again for the first time in a while, and I'd forgotten how much I loved the movie. It's such a beautiful, quite little film but it's one of the few that can (almost) move me to tears. I love my big blockbusters and the massive sci-fi/fantasy movies, but there is something to be said about completely character driven films with no special effects and just a plain old good story. If you haven't seen it, go rent it out - even if you don't like sci-fi there's no real science in it, it's just basically set in the future.

And while I'm on the subject of movies, how in the world is it possible that Pirates 2 is rating worse than X-Men 3 over on Rotten Tomatoes? I get the fact that X-Men has a 100 more reviews and that that won't be the final score for Pirates because there are probably more reviews to come, but it doesn't make sense to me. I loved them both dearly but even I can admit The Last Stand was a pretty bad movie, and I probably only appreciated it because I'm a diehard fan. Is it just because people were expecting more out of Pirates and were disappointed? I don't know, it's strange.

And that's all from me today, till later -

Coldplay!!Collapse )

Here's some audio from last night - you'll have to excuse my singing, I can actually sing but I wasn't really paying attention to what was coming out of my mouth last night, too excited :p Oh and some of them are a bit cut off. I tended to switch to video halfway through. I'd post the video but it's really big, if anyone can be bothered downloading 16 mb for half of Fix You, tell me and I'll post it. Or if anyone knows how to extract the audio track out of a MOV file that'd be even better.
Fix You(First Half)
(end of) Swallowed in the Sea & In My Place
The Scientist
Yellow
Forever Young (Youth Group)
ETA: Managed to extract the audio:
Fix You (Second Half)
Swallowed in the Sea (First Half)

Okies, enjoy,
~*Lady*~

PS Oh and Mel, no I didn't cry but I came very close in Swallowed in the Sea :p
